Character Previews

I am finally happy with my models and this episode’s ending story. For those who don’t get inside information, this episode’s fish story was going to be the fish and seahorse traveling to the swamps to meet with the snakes to recruit them in their war against the humans. I felt it was too short and needed something to add to the overall depth. My first idea was to make it a recruiting episode where they are going around meeting different animals to recruit. I made a really cool hamster along with different skunks, raccoons and rats. Then it started to feel like too much. I like characters with a lot of depth. The fish and seahorse have been a part of this for so long, they feel like real personalities. That’s what I want for every character I introduce you too. In this episode you will meet the newest member of our side, Mango. Mango is a love bird, which I did not know, is a member of the parrot family. I hope you end up falling in love with these characters like I have. To get you caught up, this is a complete breakdown of the casts and who they are.

This is my character. He only has some tweeking left on his skin color.

The original intent of my show was to give my wife and I something to do together. I will eventually get her added but last week, I decided to to make her a 3D model. She features a very easy way to do the mouth and uses the same mouth images made for 2D model. The mouth shapes have their own bone rig and you move the bone next to the mouth shape you want. Of course you won’t see it in the final reder.

Merlin was my second creation and has gone through the least amount of changes of all my characters. For some reason, I have no trouble seeing him from every angle. He also features a custom made from scratch Armature that allows him to move anyway I can think of.

This is the only photo I could find with only the fish. He still doesn’t have an official name yet but he’s the bad guy in our story and I usually reference him as Fishguy.

Mango the Lovebird. He’s the newest addition and I am not going to tell you his role just yet. He has the most complicated rig I have ever made and it has 92 bones on each wing to control the feathers. Auto Rig Pro has some tools to help with making the rig and has a wing option but you have position and link each feather.

This is the body guard for the King of the Snakes. He has the simplest rig of all my characters. His body can be drug wherever using points along his spine. He can also open his mouth and strike

This is the .king of the Snakes. He uses the same type of rig as a normal person. The only item I don’t care for is his talking. I use software that you premake each phonetic mouth shape and it will auto key frame each one where it is based on the audio file. It took so long to make the mouth shapes that kept his tongue from being clipped transitioning that I am not going to go back and change it.
